Police clearance certificate in Hungary

The police clearance certificate is valid for 90 days. The police clearance certificate is presented together with the identity document. All services must accept the police clearance certificate until the reverse data is confirmed. If the police clearance certificate is not accepted, the person has the right to apply to the Administrative Court of the Capital with the statement about the violation of private rights. The statement of claim must be sent by mail, valuable or e-mail through the Central Service of Analytical and Information Support within 30 days from the date of receipt of the police clearance certificate. The police clearance certificate is issued to the person who applied for it in order to confirm the data that this person has indicated in the application.
 
PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT
 
The personal data specified in the police clearance certificate contains special data (criminal data) in accordance with the CXIL Freedom of Information Act 2011. Therefore, those who have access to these data can only use them for the purpose of legally obtaining data from the criminal register, as well as data from court decisions of the European Union countries in relation to Hungarian citizens. According to the Law on Biometric Data of Citizens XL VII of 2009, violation of current regulations on the protection of personal data (misuse and unlawful use of personal data) is punishable by administrative, criminal, civil liability.
